Adorable piece from Dave Spadaro on the Birds site yesterday. Under the auspices of encouraging fans to support the team through their 0-2 adversity and suggesting that the fans bear some responsibility for helping the Eagles to win footabll games, Spadaro all but begs us not to boo the team on the afternoon of its 75th anniversary celebration.
Of course, Spadaro isn’t crazy. He’s a good soldier, so he knows he has to acknowledge the proclivities of the fanbase:
When the Eagles are introduced to begin the game, let them know that you are behind each and every one of them, and that you need a win just as much as they need a win. We’re all in this together, remember. The players, coaches and entire Eagles organization wants to win every week just as much as you. You don’t agree with every move the team makes and that’s fine.
Yes, that’s fine Dave. And let me be the seventy-seventh caller to mention that the atmosphere at the Linc on Sunday is going to be ABSOLUTELY TOXIC and that the boo birds will be out with a freakin vengeance. Just wait til Dunavin one-hops his first third-down incompletion. It’ll be a moment to remember!
